American Legion to Hold National Meet Attendance Planned
Beaverhead Post of the American Legion held a large meeting in the court room. Dr. F M Poindexter was elected to attend the national American Legion meeting in Minneapolis with W W Hawkins as alternate, pending state commander approval. A big November 11 American Legion Day celebration is planned with committees to cooperate on employment for returned soldiers and with Red Cross for related events.

Pioneer Matron Mrs Thompson Dies at Kidd Ranch
Mrs Henry Thompson longtime resident of the Dell county and wife of a prosperous rancher died Friday evening at the Thompson ranch near Kidd after weeks of poor health. Born in Ireland she came to Montana via Lima where her first husband ran a hotel. She married Henry Thompson twenty years ago and lived at Kidd. Funeral Monday at the Thompson residence with Rev Foley of St Rose Catholic Church officiating. Interment in Lima beside her son John A Peat.

Horse and Cattle Sale Begins Friday in Dillon
The final Dillon fall livestock sale starts Friday at Dillon Horse Sales yards. About 500 horses and 500 cattle are listed with strong out of town interest. The sale runs through Saturday and many private transactions are expected.

Big Game Is Plentiful In Leaverhead County Hunts
Hunters flocked to Medicine Lodge Sheep Creek basin and Yellowsone country in the past week. Fred Rife and Bernard Williams each brought elk or deer, while others report speckled beauties and a large elk population near Horse Prairie ranchers.
