Beaverhead American Legion Discusses November 11 Celebr at Beaverhead County
The Beaverhead Post of the American Legion held a lively meeting in the county courthouse Monday night. Plans for a November 11 American Legion Day celebration were discussed and a preparations committee named. A delegate and an alternate were considered for a national meeting in Minneapolis next month. A membership drive will use county dances, starting Saturday in Lima with Sunset orchestra. The post aims to establish weekly meetings, secure club rooms, and build a club house within a year, with $250 War Fund reconverted for regional use.

Jerome Shaffer impersonator and entertainer drew a large appreciative crowd at the Hartwig Theatre last Wednesday evening. The two hour show, a benefit for the American Legion, raised a nice sum. His impersonations ranged broadly with standout feminine and child roles and vocal numbers accompanied by Mr. Bunyan. He left Friday to tour other parts of the state for similar shows.

Court Calendar For November Term Opens
The November term court calendar was called last Saturday and cases will be set this week. A jury will be drawn once capsules arrive. Civil cases will extend for weeks with five or six criminal cases on the docket, the fewest in years. Naturalization proceedings start November 3.
Montana Visitors Find Work Here in Wenatchee
Wenatchee Washington October 12. Mrs Powers and her daughter and children arrived from Dillon Montana with the intention of locating here. On Tuesday Mr Powers and two sons Clyde and Myrl Powers and his son in law Mr Frizell reached Wenatchee by auto. The party, new to Wenatchee, found immediate work with Myrl at the freight sheds and the others as carpenters. Clyde Powers is a nephew of Capt Forsyth and has just returned from France. Mrs Powers and Capt Forsyth are brother and sister.

Helena October 11. J E Morse purchased several bands of fine wool sheep in the county and shipped them to Beaverhead ranges for winter. He bought about 2000 head from George Lyman, with shipments by J N Ring. The bands are mainly ewes and valued for fine wool breeding stock.

Mary Fyhrie widow of L C Fyhrie died after an illness in Spokane following cancer surgery. Her remains will be brought to Dillon for interment with funeral arrangements to follow on relatives’ arrival. A former Dillon resident, she led a noted home for working girls in Spokane. Wyman Returns with Bonning to Dillon on Grand Larceny Charge
