Morse Prominent Montana Stockman Dies After Illness

J E Morse longtime Beaverhead county stockman dies at Barrett hospital after a brief illness. He fell gravely ill in Helena during the state fair and was hospitalized October 2 for a general breakdown. Cause of death is coronary embolism. Funeral set for 2 30 pm tomorrow at St James Episcopal Church with Rev H N Tragitt officiating.

Death shocks Dillon man H Dewey Cashmore dies in Portland

H Dewey Cashmore, son of Mr and Mrs W F Cashmore of Dillon, died in a Portland hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Dillon April 28, 1898, served in World War I, and after graduating from Montana State College with honors in chemistry worked as a sanitary engineer and later as a dietitian chemist with federal health service. Funeral at the Masonic temple in Dillon with relatives and local organizations taking part.

Fire at Dillon fur warehouse causes $1000 damage

A blaze in the fur warehouse of Frank Bassett, Dillon furs and hides dealer, last Friday caused about $1000 in damage. The fire started from an overheated stove and spread quickly before the fire department arrived. no insurance coverage. Mrs. Bassett saw smoke around 10 am and alerted authorities. Beavers Suffer Third Straight Defeat to Deer Lodge

Powell county high’s football team lost 18 to 12 at Deer Lodge as captain Frank Little carried the ball on most plays for Dillon, scoring two touchdowns. Deer Lodge opened with a first quarter score after a Beaver fumble on a punt. Little’s hard running and a subsequent fumble helped Dillon seize the advantage, but extra-point attempts failed and the final period yielded no scoring. The Beavers outgained in yardage though could not overcome the early deficit.
