Survived by siblings in Seattle, niece and two nephews in Dillon.

Funeral services were held for Henry Johnson 30 a Big Hole resident at 3:00 pm at Wisdom church with burial in Wisdom cemetery. Johnson died after a gun in his car discharged while he was retrieving it following a duck hunt. He died at Barrett hospital Dillon after several hours of bleeding. He leaves wife Sarah and parents Hans Johnson and Claude Anderson with a brother and sister in law Raymond Johnson and others in the state.

Local ranch foreman arrested for drunken driving in Grant

Beavers Defeat Hawks 12-0 in County Fair Thriller
Beavers beat Galla tin county Hawks 12 to 0 at the county fairgrounds in a Friday night Class A victory. Bozeman received the opening kickoff led by Deputy, with a scoreless first period before Beavers drive to the 25 yard line ended in an interception by Slaght of Bozeman Hawk. Deputy trailed the return as Slaght reached the 20 yard line before being tackled in a 45 yard gain. Barrett opened the second half with a run to the 30, followed by a 28 yard gain and a Kamps to Dart pass to Bozeman’s 30 yard line. A Bozeman penalty stalled the drive and the sequence continued through several plays.

Service Men May Vote by Absent Ballot
Beaverhead County residents in the armed forces may vote in the November general election by an absent ballot. County Clerk Albert S. Baker said to apply via Dillon to receive an application blank, return a properly filled form, and have the ballot sent to the applicant. Ballots must arrive at the clerk’s office by election day, and service members will not lose their franchise in future elections. The rule requires re registration after voting absent ballots unless in active service, per Montana Election Laws 1942.
