Local churches list services at Lima Community Church and Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with meeting times. St Rose Church notes a CES meeting and annual birthday party plans, potluck dinner, games, prizes. Community updates include visits, a Far East departure, and relatives traveling between Lima, Dillon, Missoula, and Butte.
Weekend activities include a Neighbors of Woodcraft meeting at the Masonic hall with Halloween party plans for Oct 30 at the VFW hall. Dillon visitors, a rural fire call with no damage, and a Beaverette Lodge 30th anniversary dinner and games are noted along with social visits and remarks on family travel and hospital visits.
Mrs Verna Jenkins hosted dinner guests in Dillon on Sunday. Ken Koho and family from Arimo Idaho visiting Verna's daughter and her husband Kurt Raddatz. Harold Weeks and Bert Henderson left for Butte. Ladies Aid meets Oct 12 at 2 p.m. Beaverette Lodge 528 meets Oct 18 at 8 p.m. Taverner family from Dubois visited Martha Foster. George Burt and family in Idaho Falls visiting his parents Jim and Pat Burt. Pat Brown and son Jack weekend in Butte. Lily McCarthy named Reno Cafe manager at Armstead last Sunday. Harold Weeks returned from California last Saturday.
A public reception Sunday evening welcomed Rev. Martin Florian as the new priest at St. Rose parish in Dillon. Florian, who led Madison county Catholic churches for 15 years, was transferred to succeed Rev. Timothy Clifford now at St. Ann hospital in Anaconda. Many former parishioners from Madison county attended.
Andrew G. Danielson 71 died after a long illness at his Armstead home. Funeral services and graveside rites were conducted by Dillon Lodge No 1554 PBOE at Brundage Chapel. Burial followed in Mountain View cemetery. Memorial cancer fund contributions preferred. He was born April 18 1885 in Foliage Sweden and moved to Beaverhead County in 1904. He married Olive Irion in 1943. survivors include a sister Martha E Bell and several relatives.
