Beaverhead County Accepts New Show and Sales Pavilion

Last Rites Held for Frank D Knotts at Brundage Chapel
Funeral services were held yesterday at Brundage chapel for Frank D Knotts 81 who died Friday night in a local hospital after a two week illness from a stroke. He was born January 23 1859 in Burlington Iowa and moved to Montana in 1895. Survivors include a niece Mrs Walter Ronnemose and a nephew Russell Gray of Bozeman and other relatives in Idaho California and Nebraska.

Beaverhead County Officials Appointed to Function Oct 16
Beaverhead County registrars are designated to begin duties on October 16. The City Council accepts a deed to a 13 acre plot for a new park and playground planning to levy 34 1/2 mills for maintenance. The site between Glendale and Thomson avenues near the high school will include a six acre children's playground with a wading pool, swings, and sand pits and seven acres for an athletic field. The grounds will be plotted by the city surveyor and a general committee will study equipment costs and feasibility before installation begins. The Normal college is recommended to join Civilian Pilot Training for fall. Contract ready for final signature if registration meets the required ten eligible students aged 20 to 25. Applicants must meet age, college status, fitness tests, and sign pledge to enter military flight training if qualified. Cost to student is 25 dollars for medical exam insurance and course fee. Seven applicants expressed interest last week and more are urged to apply.
