The Beaverhead ram sale is scheduled for Saturday at the stock pavilion of the county fairgrounds in Dillon. More than 600 range rams, including Rambouillet and Hampshire breeds, plus about 20 purebred Hampshire ewe lambs, will be offered. Consignors include Lime Sheep Company and others from Bozeman Sheridan Dillon and Miles City with Col. A. G. Jones of Miles City as auctioneer and Luther Smith of Dillon as assistant.

Forest Highways Section Accepted After Inspection
MISSOULA Acceptance was made of several finished sections of forest highways in Montana by Engineers A C Clark and F E Andrews who completed an inspection of all such routes this week. They found the grading 80 percent completed on the second section of the Bitter Root Salmon highway and a large crew clearing the third section to continue weather permitting. Ten miles have been piled between Darby and Hamilton with an excellent road mix surface and could be completed this fall. Final acceptance was made of five miles of grading and surfacing.

Increase in Beaverhead Cars Noted This Year
Beaverhead county records show a clear rise in motor registrations. Up to September, 1,541 passenger autos and 515 trucks were licensed, compared with 1,389 autos and 397 trucks at the same point in 1934, with a full year still ahead. Larsen Ranch Auction Set Near Dillon
An auction sale for Beaverhead and nearby counties is scheduled for next Wednesday October 16 at the Larsen ranch three miles south of Dillon on Highway 91. Livestock includes eight milk cows five yearling steers five yearling heifers a red poll bull five calves five work horses and nine shoats. Local girl elected state head at Montana Home Economics club
Ruth Kelly, Beaverhead county high school senior, was elected president of the Montana Home Economics club. The selection was made by state representatives at Bozeman during high school week last spring, marking the first Beaverhead high student to hold the post. Dillon student joins Montana State livestock judging team
Carl Hansen of Dillon has been selected as a member of the Montana State College team to represent the school at the Pacific International Livestock Exposition in Portland Oregon October 6 to 12. Six men plus one alternate form the team, which will compete in judging contests next Saturday. The group travels from Bozeman with Ross Miller assistant professor of animal husbandry.

John Nelson Dies in Big Hole Basin
John Nelson, prominent Big Hole basin rancher, died at his Driston home Monday afternoon after a lingering illness. He was 57, born in Sweden on August 6, 1878, and settled in the Big Hole basin about 36 years ago, becoming a leading stockman in the region.
