Mrs. Myrtle Forgey, 40, a Chinook restaurant operator, is formally charged in Chinook district court with first degree murder in the Aug 18 killing of Francis Anderson, 34, owner of beer parlors in Chinook and Harlem. Anderson’s body was found slumped in his automobile with a bullet in the brain. Forgey was wounded in the head. The pistol alleged to have been used was found at her feet. She regained consciousness during removal from the car and has since been jailed.
Jimmie and Alice fall in love in New York as her strict Dutch guardian blocks their marriage. He plans to secure a license and marry, but she is kept aboard a Dutch tramp ship Willem Straat. A staged fire spurs a desperate move to board the vessel and rescue her before departure.
Jimmie Laurie watches as a girl cloaked in a life preserver jumps from a vessel to reach a drowning canine. The Willem Straat and Spuyten Duyvil move on while Alice is plucked from the water and reunited with her terrier, amid mixed frontier bravado and relief.
