Bill Nelson, son of Mr and Mrs Jed Nelson of the Big Hole Basin, is named among four high winners in the national farm home electrification contest. He earns a $100 state prize and a cash award, and will receive a trip to the national convention in Kansas City November 14 to 18, with plans to attend. Lima Matron Lola Ford Dies in Los Angeles
Mrs Lola C Ford matron of Lima dies in Los Angeles after a sudden illness. Her funeral is set for Thursday at 11 am at the Lima Methodist church with Rev Lewis D Smith officiating. Burial rites by Elva Boardman chapter of Eastern Star follow at the cemetery. She was born December 26 1881 in Blue Earth Minnesota and lived in Beaverhead county 44 years. Surviving are her son Lewis C Ford of Portland two sisters in Lima and Dillon a grandson two nieces and four grand nephews.

Dillon and community paid honor to Pfc. Harry Spehar who fell in action in the Philippines. Remains were laid to rest at Mountain View cemetery after rosary at Brundage chapel and a requiem mass at St. Rose Catholic church. Full military honors were given by Beaverhead post of the American Legion.

Patrolman reports two crashes on a Dillon area highway. Edwin B. Holm of Idaho Falls hit a parked car owned by John Ellis Rush of Butte. both cars wrecked and injuries were minor. Bruce Nye of Monida crashed into a backing truck, car totaled but no injuries. Patrolman stresses increased caution as darkness lengthens.
