Mrs Marguerite Birch Clair is appointed art instructor to fill the vacancy created by Miss Kathryn Kelletts resignation. Dell Youth Clarence Peterson Dies After Ranch Accident

Clarence Peterson 21 of Dell died in a Butte hospital after two months of complications from an injury he suffered Aug 4 while butchering sheep at the Peterson ranch near Dell. Born Sept 19 1917 in Dillon he was a Lima high school graduate. He is survived by his parents Mr and Mrs C W Peterson.

Women Golfers Set Annual Club Tournament This Month

Dillon Country club women plan two major events this month. The handicap tourney is set for next Sunday at 1 30 pm with posting due by Friday at the clubhouse. Winners will dine with losers the following week, organized by Miss Helen Dahlberg and Miss Kathleen Henkel. The annual championship tourney also requires qualifying scores by Oct 15 with preliminary matches the next week.

Beaverhead electors approve 165000 bond for high school

Beaverhead County voters authorized a 165000 bond to match a 135000 federal PWA grant for a new county high school building. The 836 to 125 tally was nearly seven to one with three precincts voting no and three voting yes without dissent. Construction to begin within 12 weeks with classes moved to the Normal College during build.

P T A Opens Year With Meeting At Dillon High

A large crowd filled Dillon High School as the P T A gathered for its first social of the year. Principal Conrad Orr outlined the school’s condition and the urgent need for a new building. New faculty were introduced by Dr S E Davis with Supt Paul Anderson speaking. Two former state officers explained P T A objectives. Mrs J H Gilbert and Mrs A F Waldorf shared past roles. Mrs Frank Tyre presided as program chairman. The fresh man orchestra and a vocal duet performed before a 50day hour hosted by Lillian Stone.

Normal Fall Term Enrollment Near Previous Year at Montana State Normal
