Dean Sanders Fatal Gunshot Seen As Accidental Death
Dean Sanders age 28 was found dead in his cabin on the Oscar Gravely ranch near Dell ten miles from Little Sheep Creek last Saturday night. Coroner James E. Phillips directed a Lima jury which ruled the death accidental and that the 35-30 Winchester rifle caused the fatal wound at about 11 pm.

County Bonds Approved in Beaverhead Board Meeting
Beaverhead county commissioners in a regular session approved refunding bonds of 60 681.57 signed by Chairman Martin C. Jackson to cover outstanding indebtedness and directed completion of the transaction tomorrow. A separate 11 100 bond issue remains tied up by a district court restraining order. The board also approved county official bonds and depository securities and accepted the Divide Wisdom highway as a Beaverhead county secondary project under the NIRA program lasting 6.6 miles in the county with maintenance to be funded as possible.

Dillon Lady Catches Seven-Pound Rainbow Trout at Wade Lake
Mr and Mrs J F Wikidal returned from their Wade Lake summer home with a fine rainbow trout catch led by a seven pound plus specimen. Mrs Wikidal landed the big fish after a patient fight, a prize among Wade Lake’s famed fishing grounds. The trout was frozen and sent to friends in the East as the Wikidals plan to stay at Wade Lake camp until cold weather drives them south.

TAX TOTALS LIMA HIGHER THAN DILLON
Dillon property owners will pay lower taxes this year than Lima residents per figures from Clerk Albert Baker. Dillon faces 79.96 per 1000 valuation with 15.80 to city and 22.50 to the school district. Lima totals 103.66 with 34.50 to town and 27.50 to the school district. The tax books will be turned over to the county treasurer this week.

Drake Family Leaves Dillon for Denver Home
Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Drake and their young niece departed Monday morning for Denver. Mrs. Drake and the niece had spent several weeks in Dillon as guests at the home of Mrs. Drake’s sister, Mrs. Henry Gleed.
Former local resident killed in Butte hit and run
John II. McFadyen, longtime Dillon resident and former rancher, died after a hit-and-run in Butte Monday night. Police arrested Jack Forbes, who denied driving the vehicle. McFadyen died minutes after hospital arrival. He had worked as a pump man at a local mine and is survived by his widow and a Beaverhead County brother.

Ancient Williamson House to be Wrecked in Dillon
One of Dillon's oldest structures, the Williamson House, will be torn down starting immediately. Built in fall 1882 after a major fire, the two story log lodging house has long anchored the city’s historic block now housing the First National Bank and McCaleb's. Ownership announced the demolition this week.
