Celebration notes mark Dillon fair and Eliel Brothers event

The Dillon community celebrated Eliel Brothers fifty years in business with a large parade and pageantry. A golden anniversary cake cut by Carolyn White and served by volunteers accompanied by a long roster of locals in antique and pioneer costumes. The procession featured burros, a Mellor locomotive, old wagons, stagecoach and Saddled riders, and a high school band. Notables like J P Lossl, Senator Ernest Selway, and Lt Gov Frank Hazelbaker attended. Bud Galt and others showcased produce and memorabilia as the town recalled early days and celebrated modernization against a backdrop of rain and sun.
