Rancher Harles Killed in Hunting Accident Near Monida
Beaverhead stockman Charles C. Harles, 50, was accidentally shot and killed by his double barreled shotgun while hunting on his ranch 12 miles north of Monida Montana last Saturday. His 10 year old daughter Roberta witnessed the tragedy and ran for help. The childhood accident occurred when a misfire struck him in the abdomen after he crawled through a fence to free the gun. He died within minutes. the incident was reported from the Beaverhead area.

County Registration Shows Good Increase

Ranch Hand Killed When Hit by Car
JOHN CAVANAUGH 89, ranch laborer of Reichle, was killed early Thursday on the state highway north of Dillon after being struck by a car driven by Bernard Whitworth of Dell. A coroner’s jury found the death accidental and unavoidable, noting Cavannah walked in the road and Whitworth was momentarily blinded by headlight glare.
