Motion for New Heaston Trial Filed
A motion for a new trial in the William J. Heaston Sr case, found guilty of first degree murder in district court on November 18, was filed by defendant's attorney J E Kelly. A separate motion for arrest of judgment, filed November 19, was denied by Judge Henry G Rodgers. Heaston remains in custody.

Miss Anna Christensen, Beaverhead County High School graduate, received Union Pacific's 4-H club scholarship for this year. The $100 cash award supports study in agriculture or home economics at Montana State College, where she is a freshman. Pair Sentenced On Disturbance Count Last Week
Earl Kelly was sentenced to 15 days in county jail after pleading guilty to a third degree assault charge. Mrs. William Pinkerton, arrested with Kelly in the Cabbage Patch, pleaded guilty to a disturbance charge and received a 90 day suspended sentence.

Cemetery Well Flow Proved In Recent Test
Mountain View cemetery project advances as the newly drilled well shows ample irrigation water. Fundraising by the Dillon club and community donations supported by the city and WPA funded the drilling, with trench work started and additional improvements planned. New contributors to the improvement fund include Mrs Clara Chapman Miss Jessie Duboc Mr and Mrs J F Wyatt Mrs Henry Wyatt Frank Poole and the G Poindexter family.

Idaho driver pleads guilty in year-old traffic case
James Martin of Thornton Idaho pleaded guilty to a traffic violation charged over a year ago in Judge Louis Stahl's court. He was fined seventy five dollars after the arraignment held last Saturday. The case stemmed from a towing accident that occurred more than a year prior.
