Beaverhead sheepmen roll into a strong 1937 wool market as early buying pushes prices to 36 1 2 cents after a 33 1 3 cent top the prior week. Walter Foster of Dillon, for Silberman & Sons, started the surge by purchasing Gleed Brothers’ Lima clip at 33 1 3 cents and Berg Christensen’s clip at 32 1 2 cents, with Otto Schulz’s Sheridan sample and several locals at 32 cents.

Annual Christmas seal sale starts next Friday
The Dillon Shakespeare club sponsors the event with Mrs. T. J. Carney as local chairman. Seals for 1936 will be mailed to requesters and envelopes for return of money or seals will be provided. Mail-out runs December 1 to 5, with business houses receiving seals Friday November 27 to begin the selling campaign.

Earthquakes Highlighted by Prof Scott at Rotary Dinner
Prof Scott of the School of Mines spoke on earthquakes at the Dillon Rotary Club dinner. He described three waves of motion and noted the first Montana quake in 1805 during the Lewis and Clark expedition and a Helena quake in 1868, with 65 earthquakes recorded since then.

Senator Wheeler announced reallocated funds are available for the Beaverhead and Jefferson reclamation projects to meet PWA requirements. The Beaverhead storage dam at Point of Rocks near Dillon involves a 630000 loan and 515450 grant, while the Jefferson county diversion needs a 20000 loan and 22900 grant. The PWA extended the signup deadline from November 10 to January 1.

Centennial Man Injured in Car Wreck Near Lima
John H. Bray a Centennial valley rancher sustained head injuries and facial lacerations when his car left the highway near Lima Tuesday night last week. Found pinned beneath the vehicle by Walter Foster of Dillon and two passersby, Bray was moved to Lima for first aid then brought to Dillon for further care.

Appointment of John Troupe of Wisdom as undersheriff and E W Ted Renfro of Dell as deputy was announced by Sheriff-elect Paul H Temple. Troupe, resident of the Big Hole basin since 1919, has worked for the State Bank of Wisdom and Basin Mercantile and recently trucks. Renfro, a trapshooter of international fame, has held world, national and state titles and runs a hunting lodge on Red Rock lake, known statewide.

Martin R. Quigley, prominent rancher of the Big Hole basin, died Sunday morning at Barrett hospital after a lingering illness. A Beaverhead County resident for nearly 50 years, he was born in Ireland 76 years ago and was widely known in the area.

The Dillon Preaching Mission ended with large crowds at the Lutheran and Catholic churches and an overflow at the united service of several denominations at the Methodist church. Rev Willis Loar spoke on Living a Victorious Christian Life and drew a strong Kingdom of God response. Music by the Dillon Lyric Quartet and united choirs accompanied the services.

Mrs. Jennie Waters died at Barrett hospital early Friday after a long illness. Born in Braxton West Virginia 74 years ago she moved to Dillon about 50 years ago with husband J Perry Waters who ranches east of Dillon. A big Dillon Elks charity ball filled the Dillmont park pavilion with attendees from across the county. Music by three orchestras the Baxter Bachelor Club and Friscos accompanied the evening as cash donations reached about 213 dollars, all given to the Dillon public.
