Dr Duniway visits Dillon for teachers institute

Dr. C A Duniway president of the State University at Missoula arrived in Dillon to speak at the Beaverhead county teachers institute. He addressed the Normal College and the county high school students, attended the Y M C A executive board, and spoke at the Beaverhead Club on civic reform. He advocated eliminating the restricted district and regulating saloons, praising Missoula’s cleanup efforts and urging Montana cities to follow suit. He is a Western man with a notable academic career and a reputation for executive ability.

James Mauldin of Montana Visits Butte

James Mauldin, pioneer horse breeder of Montana, visited Butte yesterday and planned to stay in Helena for a few days to handle taxes and business before wintering in San Diego California. He helped launch Montana draft horse breeding in the 1860s after bringing California mares and geldings to near Point of Rocks Beaverhead County and shipping hundreds of ponies down the Missouri River to Fort Benton.

State Automobile Association aims to build Montana roads

Butte November 23 The Montana State Automobile Association announces plans to launch a statewide campaign for good roads with a potential 400 members. President Er. Scenic Theatre to Show Cubs Tigers World Series Film

The Scenic Theatre schedules a Thursday and Friday program featuring a world championship baseball game film between the Chicago Cubs and Detroit Tigers. The bill includes two other features and Thanksgiving day musical numbers by Edith Remley and Caroline Stoller, plus a 2 to 5 pm matinee and evening show. Tickets are ten and five cents.

Mudge Galbraith, County Pioneer, Dies After Illness

Douglas Galbraith known as the Judge died last Thursday after a lingering illness attributed to general debility. A Glendale resident and former Metlen hotel associate, he once owned a large horse herd and amassed wealth through thrift. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Presbyterian church with many old time friends in attendance.
