Beaverhead Sportsmen's Association and over 300 members urge Montana officials to adjust the 1938 duck season. They seek a 30 open day stagger from Oct. 1 with weekly Friday Saturday Sunday or Saturday Sunday Monday periods, extending into December to catch the northern flight and aid conservation. Tragedy Strikes Carter Ranch As Two-Year-Old Drowns Nearby
A Dillon area accident ends in the drowning of Robert Arnold Benson, two, after falling into a slough near his Carter ranch home. His mother heard him call twice, a nearby laborer recovered the body from three feet of water, and a Dillon physician failed to save him. The ice had thawed after irrigation paused, heightening danger. Funeral set for Friday at 2:30 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church with Rev. H. N. Tragitt officiating.
