Beaverhead Sportsmen's Association and over 300 members urge Montana officials to adjust the 1938 duck season. They seek a 30 open day stagger from Oct. 1 with weekly Friday Saturday Sunday or Saturday Sunday Monday periods, extending into December to catch the northern flight and aid conservation. The letter, signed by L. B. Phillips and others, asks presentation at the state conference and U S Biological Survey meeting in Idaho.

Anaconda Elks Visit Dillon Lodge for Parade and Dance

Anaconda Elks numbers over 100 joined Dillon Elks for a Saturday night event in Dillon City Hall. The drum and bugle corps from both lodges led a parade through the business district with hundreds watching. A dance followed in the newly renovated hall, marking the first entertainment there in years.

Dillon Man Struck by Truck Saturday Night

William Davis, a Dillon service station employee, was injured Saturday night when struck by a truck believed driven by Marvin Nance. Davis was crossing the street near the service station when the collision occurred. Officials said the accident was unavoidable and that Davis sustained no serious injuries.

Normal College Plays and Games Class Thanksgiving Party

A Thanksgiving party for the Plays and Games class at Normal College is set for Wednesday at 2 o'clock. Members will play games, compete for high score prizes, and refreshments will be served. Tragedy Strikes Carter Ranch As Two-Year-Old Drowns Nearby

A Dillon area accident ends in the drowning of Robert Arnold Benson, two, after falling into a slough near his Carter ranch home. His mother heard him call twice, a nearby laborer recovered the body from three feet of water, and a Dillon physician failed to save him. The ice had thawed after irrigation paused, heightening danger. Funeral set for Friday at 2:30 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church with Rev. H. N. Tragitt officiating.

Finals Set Tonight in Beaverhead County High Tourney

Beaverhead County High School hosts three inter class finals with boys B at 7:00, girls at 7:45, and boys at 8:30. Last night the seniors beat sophomores 58 to 40 despite a 25 point handicap while juniors defeated freshmen 44 to 22. sophomore girls topped freshman girls 23 to 10.
