Sheridan Gun club planned two annual shoots at Hotel Ruby with Thanksgiving turkey on November 21 and the Montana flyer championship on December 12. Beaverhead and Montana sportsmen urged extending the open duck season but the U S biological survey rejected the request though hints of future alignment with Montana’s northern location were offered. The season ended before the northern duck flight began, leaving shooters relying on native ducks scattered after early shooting. State Game Warden James Weaver supported continuing the season.
