Tom Mulany Dies After Prolonged Illness In Dillon
Thomas J. Mulany longtime Dillon resident died at his Railroad avenue home after months of illness. Born in Batavia New York 82 years ago he moved to Dillon in 1882 and worked a threshing outfit ranching and contracting. He helped form part of the Metlen hotel project before selling his stake. Melrose resident James Maddox died last Friday in Kansas City after falling from a seventh story hotel window. He had traveled from Dillon seeking medical care and had been in poor health. His body was brought home for burial in Melrose. survivors include several children such as Mrs. Frank Schulz of Twin Bridges. Funeral services were held in Melrose with Rev. J. A. Meeke officiating.

Elks Lodge To Sponsor Charity Ball Here
The Dillon Elks lodge will sponsor its annual charity ball at the city hall auditorium Saturday night. Admission is food donations worth at least 26 cents, to aid needy families. Three orchestras provide music, hall use is donated by the city council, and J. Leonard Innes chairs the charity ball committee.

Thomas Flynn longtime Beaverhead county rancher died Monday at his ranch southeast of Dillon after a long illness. Funeral from St Rose Church Friday at 10 30 am with Rev Lechner high mass. interment Mountain View Cemetery. Rosary at ranch home 8 pm tomorrow. Born Feb 14 1854 in County Leitrim Ireland he came to America in 1876 then settled in Beaverhead valley and built a prominent ranch noted for business ability and faith. Two Montana Men Die in Highway Crash Near Armstead
Jack Ferguson 28 and Fred Williams 48 died when their car left the road two miles north of Armstead Thursday afternoon. Clark Dixon escaped with minor injuries as Ferguson lost control on a curve and the vehicle struck an embankment and guard rails. An inquest found Ferguson died of a broken neck with a fractured skull.

Widow of Former Governor Dies in California
Mrs. Elizabeth Davis White widow of the late Governor B F White died in Santa Ana California after a lingering illness. Funeral plans call for Dillon services at St James Episcopal Church with burial in Dillon. She was born in Swansea Wales in 1856 and came to America as a child. The White family moved to Dillon in 1879 and her husband led local banking before serving as territorial governor.

Butte Man Teal Found Dead in Wise River Mountains
John L. Teal assistant cashier of Metals Bank in Butte was found dead in the Wise River mountains last Wednesday from a gunshot wound. A jury at an inquest ruled death caused by a gunshot from an unknown party. Teal was stranded on a log with his rifle nearby while hunting companion Dr. J A Herzog did not notice his absence. Searching parties mobilized after Teal failed to return to the cabin. Friends in Dillon mourn his death.

District Court Term Opens December 3 in Beaverhead County

Beaverhead county high school gears up to host the Class B southern district basketball tournament on February 22 and 23 in Dillon. Dillon last hosted the district event in 1928 when Anaconda won the title. the Beavers finished fourth and earned a state bid after beating Big Timber in a post tournament game. Football letters were awarded to 15 players led by coach Carl A. Ross, with a dinner honoring the lettermen that evening.
