Director Fred Honeychurch and Kathleen Mundt guided an praised cast led by Margot Luebben and Lois Burt with strong support from Charles Davis Bob Jackson and others. Coffee between acts and an art mural display accompanied the performance.

Beaverhead county records show a new monthly marriage license high of forty four issued in October. Dillon remains a Gretna Green for Idaho couples, surpassing the previous January 1935 peak of 39 licenses. July and August 1935 saw no licenses due to the gin marriage law later repealed. Clerk Norman Giles and deputy Harold Contway issued many licenses after hours.

Beaverhead Forest Fire Loss Report Describes Small Season
Beaverhead National Forest saw a slight fire loss in 1945, with 18 fires and 195 acres burned. Lightning caused most blazes. five were man caused, including two larger fires in the Lima district. One large blaze followed a careless smoker. The season featured 10 Class A fires, three B fires, three C fires, and one D fire. Supervisor Wetzel praised cautious users and cooperators for reducing risk amid hazardous weather.

Armistice Day Observed Plan For Dillon Program
Armistice Day will be observed Monday in Dillon with a high school auditorium program at 9 45 a m conducted by the Beaverhead American Legion. The VFW will participate and the film War Comes to America will be shown. Long obituary notes A Jardine Rife 60 of Dillon who died Sunday in a Butte hospital. He had lived in Beaverhead county most of his life and worked in REA and shipyards before returning to Montana. Surviving are his wife Elizabeth a sister Maidie Van Etten and a son Fred killed in France last year. Interment was in Mountain View cemetery.

Beaverhead ranchers and hunters welcomed a heavy snow storm that blanketed the county Monday afternoon and evening. The snow melted quickly in the valley but lay several inches thick in higher elevations.

Pioneer miner Geo Conway dies at 85 in Dillon
George B. Conway 85 a Beaverhead county and Helena mining pioneer died Sunday night at his daughter Mrs A H French Dillon home after years of poor health. He came to Beaverhead in 1881 worked for Hecla Mining Co Glendale later state accountant under Gov Norris then moved to Helena about 1914 and at times ran mines across the state. Surviving: three daughters Mrs French Mrs W J Cushing of Dillon Mrs Gus Bohstedt of Madison Wis and a son Walter Conway of Helena. Interment in Helena. Also notes recent marriage licenses issued to Roscoe Wood Lenore Wallace and William H Youngstown Elva Joy Elfer.
