Local woman dies after cerebral hemorrhage in Barretts Station
Mrs. Alice Underwood of Barretts Station died at Barrett hospital about noon the day after she was found unconscious by her husband on Wednesday. She had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and was in good health earlier that morning. Born January 16, 1890 in Brigham City Utah, she married Frank Underwood on June 2 1909. The couple lived in Spencer Idaho before moving to Barretts Station in 1942. Surviving are her husband one son four sons in law four daughters in law eleven grandchildren and numerous relatives. Funeral services were held at the Brundage chapel under L D S church auspices with interment at Mountain View Cemetery.

Elks drum and bugle corps braved a snow storm to visit the Virginia City lodge for the official visit of District Deputy F. J. O'Donnell. Leo Musberger praised the Dillon drum corps founded in 1929 and its national and state honors while plans were discussed for the lodge’s fiftieth charter anniversary to be observed next January.

John Butala Dies of Heart Attack at 80
John Butala 80, of Dillon, died at home from a sudden heart attack. Born in Austria February 15, 1867, he lived in Dillon about 60 years and was a ranch owner south of town retired 15 years ago. Surviving are seven children, 15 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and relatives. Rosary Wednesday at Brundage chapel, funeral Thursday at St. Rose church.

Delegates Describe Junior Red Cross Camp Experience

Prominent Beaverhead ranchman Thomas H. Du Bois died Saturday after a heart condition led to his hospitalization last Wednesday. Born December 24, 1869 in Daratown New Jersey, he moved west in 1913, managed Beaverhead Ranch near Apex, built a large irrigated operation, won prizes at county and state fairs, served on the county draft board and Beaverhead fair board, and was a devoted Mason.

Dillon Matron Claimed by Death Sunday
Rosa A. Peterson, longtime Dillon resident, was found dead at her home on Kentucky avenue Sunday morning after a long illness. Born August 26, 1861 in Winona Minnesota, she married Barney Peterson who preceded her in death. The family moved to Dillon in 1907. Survived by son John H Wisner daughter Mae Fisk of Pendleton Oregon a nephew and two nieces. Funeral arrangements unsettled.

Ranchers of Dell Gather for Meeting
The Beaverhead Chamber of Commerce dinner in Dell brought ranchers and residents together to learn the organization's program. Ed Whitworth served as toastmaster as Albert Erickson, Lambert Eliel, W. Chester Downing Beaverhead 4 H member won a free all expenses paid trip to the International Livestock exposition in Chicago November 29 to December after earning a purple ribbon in the baby beef exhibit at the Western Montana fat stock show in Missoula. Armistice Day Observances In Dillon Community
Armistice Day on November 11 will be observed with many veteran groups closing Dillon stores and offices. Lloyd Whipple Post VFW hosts a dance November 8 at City Hall Auditorium with Sargent's Orchestra, and a uniformed veterans dance follows at Eagles Hall hosted by the local Aerie. Beaverhead American Legion sponsors the Tuesday program with a 10 to 11 am patriotic observance at Beaverhead County High School, a moment of silence, and prayer. Legion open house at City Hall dugout and a potential afternoon football game are planned, with Legion Auxiliary aiding.

Ella Ford 87 widow of Pennington Ford died at home on East Sebree Street after a lingering illness. Born August 1 1860 in Tainey County Missouri she lived in Dillon since 1914 and served as county treasurer. Survived by nine children including Roy P. Ford and Foster daughter Irene Fanatz 32 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral Wednesday at 2 from Brundage Chapel with Rev H M Hunter officiating.
