Bertie Mathews announced that new 1943 automobile plates will not be issued and metal tags will be attached to the old 1942 plates. The tags feature red numerals on a lighter background and will bear the old plate numbers. Sale to motorists begins January 1 as usual.

Stores To Close For Armistice Day Observance
Dillon businesses will close all day next Wednesday to honor Armistice Day. A 10 a.m. program will be held at the high school auditorium, followed by an open house for Legion members and servicemen at the Metlen hotel. Former Dillon Matron Dies in Bozeman
Mrs. Edward Smith wife of a former local Methodist minister died last Thursday in Bozeman. The Rev. Edward Smith, who led the church here about 15 years ago, now resides in Bozeman after retirement. Funeral services were held Saturday in Bozeman. She is survived by two sons Robert of California and Stephen of Oregon.

The Beaverhead county USDA war board outlines wartime limits for 1943. New farm machinery is limited to 20 percent of 1940 output while repair parts may reach 130 percent of 1943 production. Order L-170 shifts most production from large firms to small and intermediate producers and covers Nov 1, 1942 to Oct 31, 1943.

Children Celebrate Halloween Party at City Hall
About four to five hundred children from the community attended the first city police sponsored Halloween party. Elementary and preschoolers joined a costume parade from the Bagley building to the city hall led by the high school band and baton twirlers. Dr Marlin K Farmer acted as master of ceremonies and Miss Ruth Eklund directed singing and the flag salute. Mayor Bert Megquier spoke urging good conduct.

Beavers Meet Anaconda Here in Final Contest
Coach Harold Babcock states the Beavers will clash with Anaconda high school in the season finale Friday. Weather permitting the game is set for 8:00 p.m. at the county fairgrounds with Dillon’s lineup and a halftime band exhibit in blue and gold uniforms.
