The Dillon Rotary Club heard Prof Charles Sing discuss India as an aspiring self sufficient nation with vast mineral wealth and a breaking caste system. He compared education, agriculture and sports with the U S and praised Gandhi as a humanitarian leader. Mrs Sing and Armstead Commissioner Parke T Scott attended. Past Matrons Night of OES Observed by Mizpah Chapter
Mizpah chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star held its annual past matrons and past patrons night in the Masonic hall with large attendance. The event opened with a grand march, featured vocal numbers by Louise Boger and the College Male quartet, and a Cinderella theme for decorations and programs. Officers announced included Anna Squires as worthy matron and W.G. Squires as worthy patron, with other officers and a banquet concluding the evening.

On Naranche field last Saturday night the Normal Bulldogs and Butte Mines fought to a 19 19 tie in a see-saw game. Malia scored the final touchdown as Normal held edge in rushing with 269 yards and 15 first downs while passing gained only 17 yards. The outcome affects conference standings with Mines and Carroll in a potential three way tie for second, Eastern Normal of Billings already clinching first.

Agricultural Car Draws Attention in Dillon and Armstead
The Union Pacific agricultural improvement car visited Dillon all day Wednesday after a Tuesday stop in Armstead. Educational films on seeding potatoes and crops, irrigation, dairying, weed control, and DDT were shown. Talks by Paul Orcutt and Ralph Mercer of Montana State College complemented the exhibits. The car was delayed by a wreck north of Dillon and reached Butte late in the week. Twelve pictures covered potatoes, dairying, soil fertility, wheat, corn, fruit disease, weed control, crop production and DDT use.

A southbound stock train crashed into a standing freight near Dillon, derailing 14 cars and demolishing a caboose. No injuries among crew. two sheep killed. Traffic halted while a Pocatello wrecking crew cleared the site. The curve north of Dillon has a long history of wrecks.
