Railroad at Last Link to Dillon by Gilmore & Pittsburg

The Gilmore & Pittsburg railroad party has concluded a terminal-site deal with Morse and Bishop in Dillon. Engineering scouts are surveying from Armstead toward Dillon with construction expected within about a month, marking plans to extend from Armstead to Dillon and onward to Butte and Whitehall as part of a broader transcontinental route.

Survey for Big Reservoir on Ruby River

George R. Metlen and a Dillon crew survey the site for a large irrigation reservoir across the upper end of the lower Ruby canyon about five miles above Alder for the Homestead Land & Irrigation Co. The dam on the Ruby river will be 150 feet high and back water three miles, flooding several ranches and placer diggings, to reclaim about 24 000 acres under the Carey act. The canal runs along the Ruby valley base toward the beach land opposite Sheridan, with settlement possible in about two years and a population gain for Madison County.

New Town of Pingree Idaho Poised for Growth

Pingree Idaho in Bingham County emerges as a new irrigation hub with Oregon Short Line rail access set to begin service in June. The town has invested nearly 100000 in a hotel stores warehouses and housing and plans a June 15 town lot drawing to attract residents and business.

Butte Man Loses Suit Over Alienation of Wife

The district court jury found for J. H. Callen in A. Titchenaky of Butte versus Callen for damages over alleged alienation of his wife. The verdict dismissed the plaintiff’s claim. Other cases: Tash and Lenkerdor v. Pauline Pahniah dismissed without prejudice. Maynard v. McDougal awarded McDougal $3,080 on counterclaim. Judge Poindexter to Boulder for a term.

Field Day and Play Festival at M S N C

The second annual Field Day and Play Festival will be held Friday at 2 30 pm weather permitting with a new joint participation from the training school. A silver cup and gold medal will be awarded for drills and leadership. The event features drills, rhythmic plays, dances, and a detailed list of field and track events for training school boys in three age based classes.

Laymen Plan Program at Methodist Church
