Beaverhead County High School Class of 1910 Graduation

Ten students graduate from Beaverhead County High School in 1910 four boys and six girls. Commencement week runs May 21 to May 27 with a baccalaureate sermon alumni banquet commencement exercises and a public assembly. Notables include speaker Hon. Capacity Houses Show Big Vaudeville Bill at Scenic

The Dillon Scenic theater fills nightly with capacity crowds for a strong vaudeville program. The bill features three top acts including the skilled juggler Fouarch er, praised as a standout in first class vaudeville.

Mina Thomas Dillon is noted as a rising local artist joining Miss Graeter in Beaverhead culture.

Automobiles Bring Buick Treasures to Salmon City

Last Saturday Matt Barry delivered two large Buick touring cars to Salmon City residents. He was joined by Mrs Barry and Mr and Mrs Hugh McCaleb, while Lloyd Barnett drove the other car with Mr and Mrs M. Yesarian and young Mr Measra. Barry and Barnett stayed for a Salmon celebration of the Gilmore and Pittsburg railroad golden spike event. On the return trip they climbed the famed Midway mountain in Idaho in a 40 horsepower Buick, reputedly the first car to scale the hill, impressing Midway residents.

Busy Court Sessions See Damages and Judgments

The district court under Judge Poindexter hears multiple cases with several verdicts. Haggerty found guilty and ordered to reform school, McColl case dismissed, and Brown acquitted. Curtain convicted of second degree assault, with sentencing next week. Della Reynolds will probate, and Tinchinskey v Callen to begin next week over alleged alienation of affections.

Star theatre on North Idaho street hosts a baby contest with strong public interest and rising vote counts. Leaders include Dorothy Hirschman with 727 votes, Harold Badcon with 595, and Jane Boone with 630 votes. Extra votes are given on Tuesday and Wednesday nights as the contest runs toward Decoration Day when winners are announced.

Miss Mabel Caldwell Wins Fifth in Evening News Contest

Miss Caldwell of this city placed fifth in the Butte Evening News contest and received a magnificent Stone piano valued at five hundred twenty five dollars. She is likely to sell the instrument. Also noted as winners are Miss Alice Haining of Dillon and several scholarship recipients including Miss Pearl Neidt Carl Reebner and Miss Theone Taylor from Wisdom.

Dillon Public School Elects Teachers for Ensuing Year

The Dillon public school district No. 10 held a Wednesday meeting and elected a full teaching staff for the next year. Three teachers did not reapply, with Delia Dorchester to teach eighth grade, Margaret Rowe sixth and seventh, Bertha Malone sixth, Maud Stone fifth, Lydia Roberts third, Elizabeth Jones second, Alma Van de Walker and Mary J. Innes first grade, Amy Lees to be assigned later. The board noted crowding and considered rebuilding options on the same site for next year.

Public School Exhibit Draws Community to May 20

Dillon public schools announce a Friday May 20 exhibit in the school building. Rooms will display student work and teachers will explain projects. parents are urged to attend with children. The event runs two to six pm with an informal open house and a Friday evening session from seven to eight.

Scientific Road Making in Billings Aims at Model Highway
