Sixty-one Beaverhead county high school seniors will receive diplomas at commencement tomorrow at the high school gym. The week included baccalaureate at Grace Methodist Episcopal Church with Rev Father X Lechner delivering the address. Class day exercises and a special commencement edition by the Beaver staff framed the build up to the 8 pm ceremony led by valedictorian Tom Hartwig and salutatorian Marguerite Colling.

The Beaverhead Federation of Women's Organizations held its semi-annual convention in Dillon with delegates from multiple county communities. Dillon Shakespeare club hosted and sessions occurred at the training school and St. James guild hall. Mrs W K Harvey of Melrose presided and a Bannack home nursing demonstration by County Nurse Luella Stickney was a feature of the morning session.

The Beaverhead Stock Growers Association met at the courthouse on Saturday and voted a 250 reward for information leading to arrest and conviction of livestock thieves. Officers were re elected: J B Shaw president, Ross Nay vice president, Fred Rife secretary, W C Orr treasurer. Hope Mathews of Dillon will participate in the Grecian dance review at the State University Missoula during the 1933 May Fete. Sixty one women have been chosen for the coronation program of Emma Bravo as May Queen.
Dillon Observes Memorial Day with Ceremonies at Mountain View
Dillon business houses and offices will be closed next Tuesday for Memorial Day observances. There will be no municipal ceremonies, but Beaverhead post of the American Legion will hold services at Mountain View cemetery with flowers placed on graves.

Fishing Season Opens with Many Anglers on Big Hole River
The first Sunday after opening day drew Dillon fishermen to Beaverhead county streams. High water mudded the Red Rock and Beaverhead rivers but several hardy groups fished the Big Hole, Madison county streams, and reported fair luck despite adverse conditions.

Evidence of recovery grows as five new houses rise in Dillon. Homes are being built by Mrs. J. E. Monroe on South Street, W. J. Bierrum on South Antie Street, Miss Clara Plant on South Washington Street, George Opp on South Rife Street, and Mrs. Martha Melvyn in a bungalow. Additional building plans are reported for the summer.

Pioneer of Beaverhead Claimed in Dillon
Lycurgis R. Banning, a 60 year old Beaverhead County resident for 44 years and former miner in Polaris and Elkhorn districts, died at his Dillon home. He had lived in Dillon 14 years and worked for the city. Funeral is set for 2 30 pm at St James Episcopal with Rev H N Tragitt. interment in Mountain View cemetery. Survived by his widow and several children.

Beaverhead County High School bids farewell to Mrs Catherine Paxton Willis after 27 years on the faculty ending this term. Since 1906 she educated about 2000 students, witnessed enrollment rise from 76 to over 320, and saw graduates grow from six to 60 annually. The senior class dedicates a Beaver issue to her in appreciation.

Wise River Rodeo Promises Top Competition This Sunday
Preparations for the Wise River rodeo on Sunday June 4 are nearly complete according to manager Fred Gil. Top rodeo stock from southwestern Montana will compete with leading riders and ropers in events such as bucking contests bareback riding and calf roping plus a plains quadrille on horseback. Local Elks Plan Dillmont Dance Saturday June 8
Dillon Elks completed plans for a public dance at Dillmont Park on Saturday night June 8. The Elks lodge held a regular meeting to approve the third countywide event with the lodge orchestra providing music and Claudia Faust with her pupils performing dance specialties. Planning also covered Flag Day exercises on June 14 to be held on the depot lawn with a comprehensive program.
