Barrett Hospital Day Honors 1926 Babies at Barrett Hospital

Dillon residents visited Barrett hospital for National Hospital Day. Wives of hospital board members hosted tea in the parlors while 1926 babies born at the hospital received one dollar savings certificates from the State Bank and Trust Company.

Wisdom First Jackson Takes Second Place In County Spelling

In Beaverhead County the Pearl I Smith spelling contest awarded top prizes to Wisdom school for the highest average and Gibbons school for the second highest. All winners met the Ayres scale standard with 84 percent or better. The youngest certificate recipient was 6 year old Jane Stallings of Bannack. Bannack school had the highest average.

President to Attend Convention Leads Dillon P T A Leaders

Mrs J H Gilbert of Dillon elected president of the Montana Parent Teachers association at the Helena state convention. Mrs A F Waldorf of Dillon chosen secretary. Delegates from Dillon reported to the Dillon P T A meeting. The new MT PTA president will go to Oakland for the national PTA convention and later to Los Angeles for the California PTA convention.

May Fete to Highlight Montana Normal College Campus

The Montana State Normal college plans its annual May fete on Tuesday evening on campus weather permitting. The event, run by the Women's Athletic association, features bleacher seating with tickets sold by W A A members and free seats for those without payment. The May queen and attendants are chosen by student vote, with coronation at the start and a program of frieze productions and dances to follow, ending with a narrative pageant.

Beaverhead county high school contingent traveled to Missoula for the state track meet. Frank Little secured the lone local win with a second place in discus while other Beaverhead athletes Collected several near finishes. Matron Ella Ripley Dies After Lingering Illness

Mrs. Ella Ripley beloved Dillon matron and wife of L B Ripley died at her home on South Atlantic street Saturday evening after a long illness. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal church yesterday with Rev Howard B Ricketts officiating and interment in Mountain View cemetery. She was born December 28 1867 in Newcomerstown Ohio and moved to Dillon in 1908 with her family.

School Music Festival Scheduled Monday Evening
