Storm HAMP S TOURNEY Upset by Snow in Dillon Meet
In a snowstorm at Dillon athletic field, Teachers College beat Montana Normal 87 to 22 in a dual track meet. Chet Taylor won four firsts and a second while Miller swept the 440, 220, and cross country. Wells led the Miners with a first in the half mile as the meet was disrupted by mud and cold.

Wise River Matron Elizabeth Armstrong Dies at Ranch
Mrs Elizabeth Armstrong a Wise River pioneer and widow of John N Armstrong founder of the Big Hole Breezes died last Wednesday at the Bryn Mawr ranch near Wise River. Funeral services were held at her daughter's Wise River home and later at Wisdom church with Don Anson officiating. Interment was in the Wisdom family plot. Pallbearers included T Armitage W A Armitage Anes Parsons Jesse Tope Charles Francis and J P Lossl. She was sixty eight.

Frank Thompson Will Admitted to Probate Here
The late Frank P. Thompson's will was admitted to probate in district court last Thursday morning. Five chief beneficiaries are named including Frank Lovell of Racine Wisconsin Agatha Brown Dillon Maynard and Philip Lovell Dillon and William A Lovell Dillon each receiving a fifth of the estate after other bequests. Barrett hospital gets 5000 and numerous friends receive 500 to 2000 while cousin Chauncey Dohner of Chappel Nebraska is left 5000.

Memorial Day observance planned by Beaverhead Legion
A Memorial Day note says the community will pause a year’s round of activities to honor fallen soldiers. Beaverhead Post of the American Legion will gather at Mountain View Cemetery at 10 o’clock Monday morning to decorate graves. All stores will be closed all day.

Pioneer of Birch Creek Dies in California at 87
Fred Hopp, longtime Birch Creek rancher and county pioneer, died recently in southern California at 87. German-born, he joined the 8th Iowa Infantry on September 11, 1861 serving three years. A charter member of Steadman Post, G. A. R. No. 8, he had long since sold his Birch Creek ranch, now part of the Beaverhead Ranch company.

Motorists Warned On 1927 License Plate Compliance

Mrs. Mary Simmons of Wisdom Dies in Butte
Mrs. Mary Simmons widow of A. W. Simmons died in Butte after several weeks of illness at 77 born in Ohio. She resided in Wisdom 27 years and is survived by a daughter Mrs W C Lorentz Mansfield Ohio five sons and a sister and brother. Body to Mansfield for funeral services and family plot burial.

The district meeting of Odd Fellows and Rebekah lodges will be held in Dillon on Saturday June 4 with Apollo lodge No 15 and Diana Rebekah lodge in charge. About 300 delegates are expected from lodges across the seventh district including Butte Anaconda Deer Lodge Phillipsburg Whitehall Sheridan Virginia City Twin Bridges Melrose Wisdom Jackson and Dillon. Dr Carl B Taylor of Dillon presides and sessions will be held in the lodge room and school gymnasium with social events and a dance following the banquet.
