Mrs. Ivie Taylor Dies in Missoula at 64
Former Dillon resident Mrs. Ivie Davison Taylor, 64, died in a Missoula hospital Monday night. Born January 25, 1886 at Twin Bridges she lived in Polson and Dillon before moving to Missoula. Survivors include two brothers Edwin Davison and Quincy Davison, a sister Mrs. Levant Taylor, and daughter Mrs. Marcus Hilde. Funeral Thursday at 2 PM in Missoula with interment in Missoula cemetery.

D L Johnson Ends Fine Run as Beaverhead High Principal
Commencement at Beaverhead county high school on May 25 will mark the last formal ceremony for Principal D L Johnson after nine years in service. Known as Clancy Johnson, he arrived in Dillon in 1936 as vocational agriculture instructor and football coach, becoming principal in 1941. Under his leadership the vocational program produced top students and state F F A honors, including Floyd Pahnish and Arthur Christensen among others, with several livestock judging and public speaking champions representing Montana at Kansas City and Estes Park.

Mrs. Jessie Marble Dies at 83 in Dillon Hospital
Mrs. Jessie Marble, 83, died Sunday night at Barrett hospital after a long illness. A Dillon resident for 12 years, she was born January 12, 1867 in South English Iowa. She was survived by her sister Laura Jones and was married to the late Ike Marble. Funeral services were held at Brundage chapel with Rev. Robert N. Johnstone officiating. Interment will be at Mountain View cemetery.

Boy Scout Troop 14 will call on residents Saturday morning May 20 from 10 to 12 to collect toys for the annual drive. Davis Motor Co supplies transport. Girl Scouts and 8th graders will accept toys at Bagley School rear door all day for repair and decoration. The drive, sponsored by the Q and A club with Home Demonstration clubs, sends items to Deer Lodge state penitentiary for inmates to repair for Christmas distribution.

Diamond Bar Inn Opens May 27 With Beaverhead County Gala
The Diamond Bar Inn will open its doors on Saturday May 27 in Jackson with a gala open house for Beaverhead county residents. Owner John Dooling, a local rancher since 1931, built the rambling log facility with a western motif inspired by his cattle brand. Overnight openings on opening night are restricted to Beaverhead people. The event promises to be a major social occasion in the region with entertainment planned for the community.

Two Informations Filed This Week
County Attorney W G Gilbert Jr filed two informations this week. James Licavoli allegedly burglarized the La von Williams residence in Dillon last December stealing a sewing machine electric roaster ironer and other articles. Licavoli remains in jail on 1500 bail and faces arraignment May 23 1950 before Judge Lyman Bennett. Belton Roper a transient was charged with burglarizing Matt Petersons home in the city disposal area. Harold E Claytor of Walla Walla Wash was caught May 14 on checks without funds pleaded guilty before Judge George E Baker was fined 25 and to serve time in jail.
