Flaxseed Crop Seen Important for Paint Industry
New York May 5 The flaxseed crop outlook affects National Lead Co as linseed oil from flax seed is key to white lead sales. World droughts and a weak 1909 1910 period raised prices, with India expected to boost crops while US and Canada face planting uncertainties. Government duties push Indian flaxseed to about 2.50 a bushel as North American prospects remain only moderately hopeful. National Lead is sourcing Argentine seed to aid growers, but acreage gains look limited.
