Chuck Davis Named Head of Beaver High School Students
Chuck Davis was elected president of the Beaver head county high school students association at the annual election Friday. He will succeed Bob Gosman as head with Bill Harrison as vice president Virginia Tovey as secretary Betty Lou Glassey as treasurer Pat Carrigan as business manager and Pat Talent as yell leader. Senior class day exercises were held in the auditorium Friday afternoon with Mary Long receiving the geometry award from Bob Wolf who had won last year. Bernadine Rebich of Dillon placed second in a Montana Dairy Industries essay contest for fifth and sixth graders. She wrote on The Dairy Cow's Contribution to Montana and earned $20 in war stamps. she had earlier won a $25 bond in the regional round. Lillian Benjamin of Shelby won the division.

Sam Turner, 75, longtime Beaverhead county resident for nine years, died Monday morning at the county farm. A native of Oxford Mississippi, he worked on several ranches in the county after arriving in the region. No known surviving relatives.

The Normal college bulletin announces a ten week summer session starting June 4, split into two five week terms. Courses serve degree completers, two year diploma holders, and those teaching on emergency permits after summer study. Beaverhead Man Noah Tash Dies at 76 in Sheridan
Noah Raymond Tash, 76, longtime Montana resident, died suddenly Monday at the O A Schulz ranch in Sheridan of a heart attack. Born October 6, 1863 in Thayer Iowa, he moved to Montana in 1887 and later worked as a stage coach and freighting driver between Dillon Virginia City and Bannack, then in various ranches in Beaverhead and Madison counties. Survived by wife Anna V Tash and two sons Donald of Lima and another son.
