Former Dillon Child Dies in Billings
Billings reports the death of Helen Lacklin six years old daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Jesse Lacklin due to diphtheria. Funeral services were private. The Lacklin family formerly resided in Anaconda where Mr Lacklin served as a Methodist pastor and later entered military service as a chaplain in Camp Taylor Kentucky. News of the child's passing brings sorrow to the community.

Helena May 10 More than 30000 in cash premiums have been appropriated by the Montana State Fair for distribution among exhibitors at the Victory Exposition Sept 9 to 13 with an additional 5000 in special premiums from National Breeders Associations and other Montana development interests. The premium book outlines rules for horses cattle sheep goats wine poultry rabbits farm products fruits flowers dairy and arts education. County exhibits may receive up to 1000 from county funds to support displays, forming a major agricultural showcase for the state.
