Forest railroads sign pact to curb forest fires
Secretary Wilson signs agreements with Great Northern and Northern Pacific railways to cooperate with the Forest Service in preventing fires along lines. Crews will clear 200 feet buffers, install equipment, and fight fires jointly with government and railroad staff. Costs of battle within 200 feet borne by the railroads. court actions cited to support cooperation and timber protection. A separate Montana court sale notice follows in Beaverhead County for a large land and water rights parcel, to be auctioned May 28, 1910.
