Beaverhead Cowman Dies in Portland
Ed Montgomery an old time cow puncher and rancher from this Montana region died in Portland on April 20 at about 70 years old. He left the Bert Paul ranch near Monida to seek an operation in Portland and had earlier worked on eastern Oregon ranches and Montana cattle outfits including Madison and Beaverhead counties. He served as foreman for the Paul brothers in the Centennial valley. His friends mourn his passing.

Union Electric head buys Dillon Golf Club bonds
Harry Turner, president of Union Electric of this city, purchased ten bonds worth 250 dollars issued by Dillon Country Club to fund a new golf course. Nelson and Drummey Win School Track Meet Honors
A joint track meet at Nelson school last Friday honored boys and girls from Nelson and Drummey schools. Floyd English of Drummey led with 35 points as Drummey won 103 to 89.event winners included Philip Malesich and Ned Pilgrim in sprints and distances, with Frances Stauduhar and Hannah Malesich among girls’ finalists.

Miner and Rancher Is Summoned
James Jaggers, longtime Beaverhead county resident, died at his Dillon home Friday morning after a lingering illness. Born October 12, 1855 in Ohio, he spent about forty years in the county as a rancher and miner, last living at New Departure mine near Bannack. Survived by two daughters Myrl Enderly of San Francisco and Ethel Reed of Twin Falls, and one sister Mrs A L Robbins of Butte. Funeral Monday at home with Rev Howard B Ricketts of the Methodist Episcopal Church officiating. interment in Mountain View cemetery.

Beaverhead county approved lower second offers from three property owners for rights of way along the new state and federal road from Brown's station toward Dillon. Dillmont park near Dillon plans a busy summer start with a Saturday opening night dance in the park pavilion.
