Harley O Donnell of Billings named as a candidate for American Farmer at the national convention next fall. Dillon Man Joseph King Dies After Months of Illness
Joseph C. King of Dillon died at home after a several month illness from a heart ailment. Born January 10, 1879 in Hoboken New Jersey, he lived in New Jersey New York and the East before moving to Beaverhead County. He spent the last four years in the county and three in Dillon and worked as a night clerk at the Medlen hotel. He leaves no known relatives. He was a member of Dillon lodge No 1554 BPOE. Funeral services will be held by the Elks lodge with time pending.

Roundup Women Host 120 Montana College Girls Play Day
Over 120 girls from 12 Montana high schools joined College Women for The Roundup two day event at Montana State Normal. Activities included volleyball swimming roller skating relays archery ping pong and badminton with social events and a cabin trip on Birch creek. Rose Conwell and Marjorie Hamer led planning with visits to residence halls and a Sunday breakfast before departure.

Tony Jensen a 50 year old ranch laborer died Sunday night at Barrett hospital after a brief illness. Born in Denmark June 10 1889 he lived in Beaverhead county four years working on Lovell and Berg Christensen ranches. Funeral was held Tuesday at Brundage chapel. Mountain View cemetery. Dillon Parent Teachers association hosts father and son gathering at the high school tonight at 7 30 with sports and entertainment followed by refreshments. Fathers attendance will count toward book attainment as in other PTA sessions.

At the Dillon Rotary Club dinner Monday night Sept a youth program was highlighted with Paul Anderson as principal speaker. He urged community responsibility for delinquency amid urban congestion and idle youth. Additional talks covered youth work by Rotarians and a plan for a public park and playground with a committee and land east of Center Street.

May Fete at Normal College Promises Fairy Tale Pageant
The Montana State Normal College in Dillon hosts its annual May Fete on Friday May 10 in the college gymnasium. The theme Fairy Tale Land features hundreds of student dancers in costumes, with a coronation for the May queen to be announced that night. Five candidates Desta Fisher Mildred Harrington Dorothy Ann Davis Ruby MacLean and Madalyn McDonnell contend for the crown under the guidance of Miss Marjorie Hamer.

Beaverhead High Wins Thrilling District Track Meet
Beaverhead high clinched the district track title at the fairgrounds field edging Sheridan 45 1/3 to 43 1/3 after a final event. Wilcox led Dillon with 19 points and Hill of Sheridan had 15 with three firsts as district records fell in the 100 yard dash 10.0 and 220 yard dash 22.9 while Perry of Sheridan set a low hurdles mark.

Twin Bridges Driver Blamed For Accident
A coroner's jury in Whitehall found Twin Bridges truck driver James Peer at fault in the death of Edgar E. Wayne, a former Dillon man. The verdict states Peer drove on the wrong side of the road and appeared intoxicated, with Wayne killed in a head injury collision near Vendome on the Whitehall Twin Bridges highway.
