Dillon Man Dies of Car Crash Injuries
Esteemed Beaverhead man Pearl I. Smith died Sunday at Barrett hospital from injuries suffered in a crash near Brown's Bridge the previous Monday. Born February 5, 1871 in Twin Mounds Kansas, he had long led Beaverhead Abstract and served as state senator from 1924 to 1928. He was active in education and local politics.

City plans WPA garage adjacent to city hall

The $18,000 structure will store trucks and equipment, using rocks from the former Normal college dormitories. Vincent Gibbons a Beaverhead county high school athlete cannot play next year due to Montana High School Association cutting the maximum age for competition from 21 to 20. Eighteen track candidates, including Tom Ames and Vince Gibbons, vie for a possible ten-man state meet team in Missoula. Dean Doak, son of C L Doak, and six University students were injured in a Deer Lodge area car accident near Warm Springs. Four winners named in flag declamation contest
Four divisional winners were chosen at the flag declamation contest held at the training school auditorium under the American Legion auxiliary. Auxiliary Dance Draws Large Crowd at City Hall
The St Patrick's day dance by the American Legion Auxiliary drew a large audience at the city hall auditorium last Wednesday. It raised over 150 dollars to fund a new oxygen tent at Barrett hospital. Frank Lasich won a ton of coal with lucky number 52. The committee thanked the community and Standard Lumber & Coal for a coal donation and Frisco Baker's orchestra, with Mrs Nellie Poole as a member, for cooperation.

Beaverhead county educators joined the Montana Education Association delegate sessions in Butte over three days. Principal Conrad O. Orr led reports on six man football and the Montana teacher tenure survey covering 4 853 teachers with help from Miss Helen Dahlberg and Miss Catherine Henkel. The Dillon Elks lodge drum corps invites guests to a dance at their renovated headquarters formerly Dart’s hall on Saturday night March 27.
