New Normal Building Plans Chosen For Normal College

The State Normal College board selected C S Haire of Helena as supervising architect for the new main building with three submitted plans reviewed. Prizes awarded to Link & Carter of Butte and W E Donovan of Great Falls, while the plan will feature a red brick and stone Gothic style with a two story entrance, large library windows, and a 45 by 34 foot gymnasium in the basement area.

Madison County ranchers buy nine blooded Hereford bulls

Reed and Hollingsworth sold nine blooded Hereford bulls to E D Marsh and W H Foster of Sheridan. The buyers praised upbreeding and high quality stock, noting Fortune the finest Bull seen and plans to mate with Short horn and Poled Durham cows. The Sheridan outfits aim to build a brand recognized in major markets and also breed standard horses.

New Normal Board Appointed by Governor Toole

Governor Toole appointed J. F. Bishop F. C. Krese Jos. B. Poindexter and A. L. Stone to the State Normal College board of trustees for four years starting March 20. The board met to elect Jos. B. Poindexter chairman and A. L. Stone secretary and treasurer. Jos. Hainds of Bedrock visited Dillon yesterday.

Beaverhead County High School Trustees Nominated

A citizen caucus held in the county courthouse nominated trustees for Beaverhead County Free High School. Gov. B F White was named chairman with A L Badcon as secretary. Nominees include B F White Dillon C H Strebridge Wisdom G T Paul Dillon and G R Featherly Dillon. An election set for April 1 at the Dillon school from 1 to 4 pm.

Bozeman Girls Triumph in Dillon Basketball Showdown

The Bozeman Agricultural College girls defeated the Normal College team in Dillon amid a near full house and lively crowd. Officials Carl Taylor and Lowell R. King drew criticism for strict fouling calls as the game featured many fouls and double fouls. Afterward the Normal girls hosted a reception at the dormitories with dancing and refreshments.

Emerson Hill Leads Idaho Queen of the Hills Mine Company

Emerson Hill a key owner and president of the Queen and Crescent Mining Co plans to develop the Queen of the Hills mine near Salmon Idaho. John Raymond Ward, a prominent Dillon resident born in 1860, died at 12:10 yesterday morning from an eye cancer after years of illness. He endured blindness and pain, leaving a widow Belle and four children, with funeral services set for 3 PM tomorrow at the family home on Washington Street.

Sheridan cigar factory owner missing long hidden

A revenue officer in Sheridan inspected the local cigar factory after its proprietor vanished weeks ago. The factory door was locked. the inspector entered through a window. The Sheridan Enterprise cigar plant was run by Billie Cleary, formerly foreman at Dillon’s plant, who moved through Virginia City and Rochester to Sheridan.
