P Desmond Pioneer of Beaverhead Claimed
Patrick Desmond 82 prominent Beaverhead pioneer stockman died of a heart attack last Wednesday at his daughter Mrs Chester Bariett’s home on Thomson avenue. Born in Cork Ireland March 17 1862 he came to America at 19 working on eastern river steamboats and later on the Columbia river. He moved to Montana in 1880 and settled in Beaverhead county.

Arthur W. Connolly 82 prominent Dillon businessman died last Friday at Barrett hospital after a brief illness. Born in Milwaukee March 1 1862 he moved to St Paul before settling in Dillon in 1886. He joined Dart Hardware 1888 later purchasing an interest and becoming president when the firm reorganized in 1909.

Gargoyles Stage Winter Quarter Play The Late Christopher Bean
Normal Montana State Normal college Gargoyles presented their winter quarter play The Late Christopher Bean at the college auditorium last Friday night. Myrtle Savidge directed the three act comedy, a Broadway success, in amateur form with a large audience. Cast included Helen Taylor Dillon Bill Chance Esther Leéyson Erling Richardson LeRoy Sands Margery Fisher Marcus Nichols Robert Murray. Assistant director Carol Wood and production staff members aided by Ruth Phelps Rush Fuller Marion Conklin and Erling Richardson. Paintings for the set were created by Mary Baker and art classes.

America's Thrill Car for 1934 on Display in Dillon
Beaverhead County residents will have two chances next month to view the Chevrolet on display. Union Pacific’s new streamlined train will pass through Dillon northbound at 7 22 PM on Wednesday April 4 and again later that night. The Chevrolet, touted as America’s Thrill Car for 1934, features Knee Action wheels a Blue Streak engine 80 horsepower and a 112 inch wheelbase promising a glide at 80 miles per hour.

Police Car Damaged In Center Street Intersection Mishap
Idaho Falls resident Bollerillo faced jail time after a Wednesday incident on Center Street. He was fined 25 dollars for drunken driving and charged 30 dollars for city vehicle damages. The collision occurred when the city police cruiser tried to turn onto Center Street, allegedly at the wrong side of the road.

Although not officially announced, Dillon appears to have chosen the Sam Arndts hardware building on North Idaho Street opposite Hartwig theatre for the state liquor store. During a three day meeting the county board approved a road abandonment petition near the reservoir and ordered a new highway built by Water Users Irrigation company with culverts and bridges. A public hearing is set for April 3 at 2 PM. The board also addressed delinquent lands in the Big Hole irrigation district and accepted the bond of Dr Walter H Stephan. Flying School to Be Organized in City This Month
R. E. Morrison of Helena municipal airport will visit Dillon around March 16 to help organize a new local flying school under his supervision. Morrison helped establish aviation schools in Helena Shelby Havre Bozeman and Livingston many of which remain in operation.
