The Montana Mercantile team of the city league clinched the first series pennant by defeating the Olmsted Strenson Co. 22 to 4. Joe Smith pitched exceptionally for Barry’s grocers, with strong fielding by Bradley. Miner Dennis Ryan Found Dead After Snow Slide
The body of Dennis Ryan, about 40, a miner from Butte, was found two miles south of the Dark Horse mine on the Montana Idaho divide. Coroner Ford conducted an inquest concluding death by snow slide on January 6. The body, found by Frank Controy, showed coyote scavenging and was buried in Jackum after preparation by Undertaker EH Brandage. His brother resides in Baker Idaho.
