Two armed men robbed the Summit saloon at Monida stealing over £200 then fled by train. A sheriff and a conductor were wounded as a pursuit led to a confrontation aboard a passenger car with gunfire and injuries. The assailants escaped south toward the darkness.

Dillon business leaders and citizens voted at a mass meeting to hold a grand Fourth of July celebration inviting neighboring counties. The program features races, wrestling for a Montana championship purse, baseball with Twin Bridges, auto and motorcycle events, a big parade directed by Eph Stoller, and prizes for best decorations. Committees for finance decoration reception sports advertising and public comfort are already at work.

Acting Sheriff Doc Erwin rounded up hoboes and other undesirables in Armstead and brought them to Dillon on the afternoon train. They are jailed on vagrancy charges. Mrs. Fred Schuler and Miss Dorothy Couch traveled to Leadore Idaho to visit the Schuler ranch.
