A University of Michigan study led by Dr. Donald G. Marquis tested the tranquilizer Miltown on 40 volunteers using a driving simulator and other measures. Results showed double the usual dose did not impair steering, reaction time, or muscular control, unlike whiskey which did reduce driving performance.
