Power Line Bids to Be Opened Here Thursday
Bids for a 40 mile power transmission line from Banack to Wisdom will be opened at Vigilante Electric headquarters at 10 a.m. June 20. The 69,000 volt line is specified by the State Water Board and bids will be reviewed by engineer John Beilenberge with Rural Electrification officials in Washington. The Wisdom substation contract was previously awarded to Montana Electric Supply Co of Billings. Bruce Watters of the Vigilante staff attended a State Land Board meeting in Helena where site approval was granted.

Matt Orr Dies in California Co-Founder’s Eldest Son
Matthew Orr 87 eldest of the six Orr brothers and co founder P and O Ranch died last Friday in Santa Barbara California after years of residence with his son Philip Orr chief archaeologist and paleontologist with the Santa Barbara Museum was away on a National Geographic expedition at the time of death. He was born January 24 1870 in Yreka California and helped build Dillon’s first electric light plant and a early automobile with his brother John. He was a WWI veteran and a longtime Dillon Mason Lodge member with a quiet nature and love of geology and hunting. He is survived by his son Philip two sisters in law and several nieces and nephews in Dillon and Montana and California.
