Victim Claimed By Big Hole River Friday
The Big Hole river claimed a hunter or worker Friday after he slipped beneath the surface while fishing or exploring. Companions tried to recover him, aided by Leslie Smith and son Donald from a canoe with flashlights, but search efforts failed. The man, born May 30 1914 in Terry Montana, had lived in the area five years and worked at Leonard Lively mine on McCarthy mountain. He left a family in Terry and Glen, with services held Monday at the Brundage chapel before burial in Terry.
