Public census returns near completion in Montana district

Leon Shaw reports about 225 to 276 enumerators have filed returns, with remaining districts wrapping up within two weeks. The work faced enumerator shortages and harsh conditions, but Montana’s agricultural development is highlighted as a key outcome. Sale of State Lands by Montana Registry at Dillon Auction
The Register of State Lands of Montana will auction Beaverhead County lands on July 7, 1910 at 2 pm in the Beaverhead County Court House Dillon. Lands offered in quarter sections with appraised prices payable cash or 15 percent cash plus equal yearly installments over 20 years at five percent interest. Purchases subject to leases, possession January 1, 1911, and reservations for coal oil and gas. All bids subject to the State Board of Land Commissioners approval.
