Weeklong festivities mark Montana Normal College events
A sweep of public programs runs June 10 to 17 at the Normal College with free admissions except for the Senior Play. Highlights include field program selections, Yates drama, baccalaureate by Rev. D Foley, senior play The Final Word, musical recitals, class day, commencement exercises, and an alumni reunion. President Fancher of College of Montana will give the commencement address as the 24 graduate class earns diplomas.

State Board of Education Meets for Progress Reports
The State Board of Education convened in semi annual session to review reports of progress from seven state institutions and to consider life and state diploma applications and other routine matters. The diploma committee led by S D Largent examined applicants all day and reported splendid progress. the board expects its full report tomorrow. Each institution reported sound financial and educational operations, staying within legislative appropriations.

Death in Monida Triggers Montana Funeral Plans
William Spears died suddenly in the Monida depot while waiting for a train to Lima. He was born in Michigan and moved to Montana 25 years ago to ranch, taking up a Centennia valley property. He left seven children, five living, and his funeral is planned for Thursday afternoon in Lima.

Death of Mrs. Neil Sharkey Remains Memorialized
Mrs. Neil Sharkey died Sunday evening after a six month illness of heart trouble. Her funeral was held at St Rose Catholic Church with interment at Mountain View. She leaves husband and four children and was a longtime Beaverhead County resident born in Woodstock New Brunswick. She was highly regarded in Dillon and local church circles.

Junior Sunday at the College Observed
The 32 member junior class wore yellow pennants and uniforms and held a full day of activities. Morning flag, afternoon dinner in yellow decor, class procession led by President Gertrude Cameron and Professor Misa Careon, songs, and a stepa ceremony. Elders guard the dais as juniors sing farewell to seniors. Next Sunday Senior Sunday with vesper service and baccalaureate sermon.
