Dillon’s fast baseball team extended its winning streak with a 22-6 victory over Lima at the athletic park Sunday. Mrs Warren Hughes of Wise River presided with hostesses from the Armstead Neighborhood club and a noon luncheon served by Wise River guild members. Lieutenant Governor Frank A. Melrose Plans Fourth of July Festivities
Melrose will celebrate the Fourth of July with a big afternoon rodeo and morning races including a tree-for-all horse race a saddle horse race a pony race a 100 yard dash for men a boys foot race and a girls race managed by a committee led by Fred Gill Roy Peterson James la Marche and John Dean. A night dance and midnight supper conclude the events with Fred Gill’s bucking horses featured in the rodeo. Dillon offers no celebration this year.

A historic building at the corner of Washington and Helena streets in Dillon is being dismantled to clear space for a new blacksmith shop by Jack McLaren.
