Fire damages Ross Hill home on Idaho street
A Tuesday fire at 335 South Idaho street severely damaged the kitchen and rear of the Ross Hill residence with smoke throughout the house. Defective wiring blamed as the cause, workers battled the blaze before it was quenched. Mrs. Charity Hill was hospitalized for mild shock and smoke effects.

Clara Chapman 94 longtime Dillon resident died at Barrett hospital Tuesday night at 7 15 after three years of illness. An original St James parish member Mizpah Eastern Star charter member Shakespeare club organizer and former Dillon American Legion Auxiliary president. Born March 7 1863 Wheeling West Virginia daughter of John and (illegible) Shively. Family later moved to Ohio and then Corrine Utah where her husband worked as a wagon maker. (Continued on Page)

Two IFYE Women Delegates to Visit in County
Two young IFYE delegates from India will stay in Beaverhead County for about three weeks. Kusum Chowdhry of Rajasthan and Amarjyoti Ghatge of Bombay will live with local ranch families from June 28 to July 22. Chowdhry studied botany zoology chemistry and English at Rajputana University. She has farm experience and interest in social service poultry and gardening. Ghatge is a college graduate entering the program.

Idahoan Severely Hurt in Auto Crash
Orvil Wylie 24 of Rexburg suffered severe injuries when his car left U S Highway 91 and rolled 15 miles south of Dillon. Undersheriff Lloyd Thomas said the vehicle was demolished and Wylie was unconscious with multiple injuries.

Supreme Court refuses writ on WMCE electrical contract
Helena AP Montana Supreme Court on Friday refused to issue a writ sought by Donald Allen of Helena seeking reversal of a Western Montana College of Education electrical contract. Allen Electric Co. claimed it offered the lowest bid for dormitory and Student Union work, but the award on May 13 went to Frank Davis of Dillon. The writ request followed a district court dismissal by Judge Lester H. Loble. Formal ground breaking ceremonies were held on the Dillon campus Friday.
