Beaverhead High names Alumni Cup winner Paul Simons
Paul Simons editor of the Beaver and senior class vice president was awarded the Alumni Cup at Beaverhead County High School commencement last Thursday night. The honor, chosen by faculty for outstanding school work and activities, was presented by Lew Brundage. The 1937 winner is the son of Mr and Mrs Fred Simons of Dillon. Fifty three seniors received diplomas as Dr Curtis Wilson of the School of Mines spoke.

Nation's best gunners enter big Montana event
Dillon hosts the forty fourth annual Montana Sportsmen's association trapshoot against new traps near the Dillon Country club. The event promises record participation with 1280 added money and cash purses across 24 of 26 events. Officials begin Friday with six 25 target matches and a 150 target team race in the Montana Standard telegraphic tournament.

Elizabeth Winn was elected president of the Dillon Business and Professional Women’s club at a picnic meeting held last Wednesday night at Dr Beata Hall’s home. Junior High Graduation Set For Thursday

Registration Books Opened New Listing
In compliance with the new law the old registration records were destroyed by Clerk and Recorder Albert S. Baker over the weekend and the new registration books opened. Everyone eligible to vote must register again before the next election. Baker was first to register yesterday morning as the books opened. Deputies Walter S. Rain and snow last Friday and Saturday brought much needed moisture to Beaverhead county. Parch ed ranges revived and crops benefited while foothills wore a white blanket Saturday. Ranchers remain wary about declining storage water though statewide shortages are not yet as severe.
