Death of Charles Streb Shocks Melrose Community
Charles Benedikt Streb, a beloved Dillon teen and Melrose resident, was murdered last Sunday. Two strangers circling Melrose before a dance shot Streb as locals pursued the assailants by rail and road, with officers capturing them near Cornell's ranch. Streb died after surgery in Butte. He was born March 1, 1895, and left a grieving mother and community.

Judge H R Melton Dies Beloved Beaverhead Leader
Beaverhead mourns Judge Henry Ripley Melton long time lawyer and public servant. Born 1862 in Kentucky he practiced with Governor Robert B. Smith then moved to Dillon in 1884. He served Beaverhead as probate and county attorney and held city clerk post before forming a law partnership. His funeral is set for Monday at 10 in Mountian View cemetery.
