MANS KILLED BY LIGHTNING NEAR DILLON RANCH
A young man around 80 years old, John Dunham, was struck and killed by a lightning bolt while operating a mower in a hay field at Schuler ranch about eight miles north of Dillon. The strike occurred at 3:30 pm during a hot day with a brief shower. his hat was ripped, a burn traced his spine, and the horses were shocked but survived. Dunham’s body was taken to Dillon and destined for Hot Springs Idaho per his card, with burial arrangements to be handled by the local Sheepherder union chapter.
